Would it be possible to have an FAQ forum? Many moons ago I helped out on a parenting forum and we had a FAQ section for breastfeeding. People thought of a FAQ, posted it and then everybody would answer. If your answer changed over time you could go in and edit it. It might just cut down on the "what do you do for science", "what do you do for art" type of questions and leave more room for specific questions. Just an idea that I've seen work on other boards.
