Of course, I don't think I use anything as designed. I thought I might use it exclusively but it didn't work out too great for us. However, I really like it because I use it to print out books for my dc's to read. They get progressively tougher so I know they are progressing.
I also like that most of them are "tried and true" so I don't have to worry if they are objectional to me or not. To me, the amount is more than worth it.
We are using 50 Famous Stories as Literature study now and I can print off certain stories as I choose. I just like its versatility.
In theory, I love the method but just wasn't able to implement completely here. For me, it is a valuable tool for our education.

We have it too, but really don't use it. I didn't like the no languages, and I like science too, and they didn't start that til the senior year??
And I hate printing up books. Sometimes mine just read off their computer screens.
I did like the two hours math, two hours reading, one hour writing. I just wanted Latin and Spanish in there somewhere.

I use it for some books we like but I don't "use" it like a curriculum. It's nice to have some of the old classics in one place though.

Honestly, it's the box I've put a sticky note on for DH that says, "If I die, brew a pot of coffee and read the information on these disks. You *can* homeschool the kids without me. Love you, Dy"
However, on an entirely less morbid note, I love the older literature. I love having access to the dictionary-without-the-schwa *grin*. DS9 likes the vocabulary work. DS7 likes the math function. We've all enjoyed the encyclopedia.
I don't use it as it is designed, because I do not have to. Plain and simple. I have the luxury and joy of being involved in the children's education to the extent that I am. We love that. I wouldn't trade how we do things now for how the RC is set up. However, if I couldn't devote the time and attention to my wee ones, and found myself needing to make a shift in our approach, this is the first resource I would grab.
So, um, basically, it's a great set of books, for us! LOL!
We use it as designed. We don't do school on Saturdays, but I think that is the only thing we leave out. Honestly it is the best thing that has ever happened to us! We've been using for five years now. Our oldest is almost 11. We love it!
There is a christian yahoo group that is *very* active. Just type in christian robinson curriculum into the yahoogroups page and it will come up and you can join. The ladies are all very helpful and encouraging.
