We drove 2 hours to get to this one, the earliest we could attend. DD got very helpful, as well as very positive feedback on her portfolio, and I got to hear it - and then ask the questions about scholarships & deadlines & etc. Three out of the 6 schools she talked to wrote "accepted" then and there on her interview card - including Chicago SAIC!!! Now she's a LOT more motivated to fill out those application forms, as well as update her portfolio with some more life drawings and observational stuff. Wooohooo! (and hopefully all that will turn into significant scolarship $$).
The place was totally crowded and she spent most of her time standing in line and breathing stuffy air - and looking at the wonderful art being shared by her peers.
ETA: I think we should have started going to these in January last year...perhaps that would've meant a more motivated college application filler-outer!
