View Full Version : Math people: R&S math then CLE math?

I saw this mentioned on another thread, and it's something I never considered. When I called the R&S rep here in Canada today, she told me that her church school goes from R&S book 8 right into CLE high school math - she says they are similar programs.

Has anyone gone through the R&S math books to the end of book 8, then continued on with CLE math? If so, how did the transition go? What is your opinion of CLE high school math? I looked on their website and it seems it goes up to Algebra II, then "functions/trig" and I'm not really sure what that last course is all about. Is it a pre-cal course? Do they not have a calculus course (I couldn't find one)?

I will be looking in the next couple of years for a math sequence to take us (after R&S book 8) from algebra to calculus, preferably with one publisher all the way through.

Thanks!

Well actually the High School CLE math is actually a reprint of Alpha Omega's curriculum . They have a contract where they are able to do this . They are working on their own curriculum called the Sunrise edition . But I think it maybe a while before anything is out for high school math . There is a huge yahoo group called Christian Light Families and they have a CLE rep there that can answer that question better .

So really right now as it stands though CLE's High school math is the same as Alpha Omega's Lifepac Math which only goes to Precalc or Advanced Mathematics with Trig Probablity and Special Functions .
They donot make a Calculus course .
Hope that answers your question :>)

It does, thank you. And it doesn't sound like something I want to pursue right now. Guess I'll keep an eye on CLE over the next few years, though.
