We used it for 2 years with our cyber. It was the only writing curriculum I'd used until this year when Pandora's box was opened. :D It was okay, I guess. Reason for my question: I have Book a and b (3rd grade) that we didn't end up using. Ds8 will be in 3rd grade next year and I was going to use WWE or Writing Tales but if I don't have to spend the money...you get the picture. I wonder if anybody could review Writing in Action for me? Actually, I'm getting WWE for my ds6 so I'll have the text anyway PLUS, I'll have Writing Tales for ds9 anyway. Okay, I should just collect curriculum :D as a hobby!

Generally, I've always considered K12's writing program to be very good but mismatched with the grade level of the rest of it's language arts program. The writing portion always seemed a grade level or so ahead of the literature/grammar/spelling/vocabulary. I thought Writing in Action was very well laid out and easy to follow. Incremental, step-by-step instructions from pre-writing to revision and editing. It's not incredibly interesting, but then again, what composition program is?

Please let me know if I can answer any other questions you might have.

I guess I was just hoping it wouldn't be a waste of time for my ds. I have tons of writing curriculum, so if it doesn't work, he'll be okay. Thanks for your reply!
