Do those of you that make spinach pizza cook the spinach first, or can you just chop it and throw it on top of the cheese?

Or what else should I be thinking of?

I really can't answer this, but I just finally HAVE to come out and say it:

Everytime I see one of your posts, your avatar just makes me SMILE.

It's GREAT!

That is all... :leaving:

I've done it both ways. I prefer it cooked first - just a personal preference. If you cook it first, be sure to drain it really well or it'll make your crust soggy. I wrap mine up in a towel to get all the moisture out. (But, I think you already knew that!)

Well, I do love spinach pizza, and I make it with fresh spinach, then the cheese on top, then cooked, so the spinach definitely cooks in the hot oven. Also, it is very good with feta cheese instead of mozellara cheese!

Luckily, he makes a face like that just often enough to make ME smile, too. Otherwise, . . . .

I have always cooked it first, never thought to try it otherwise. I love spinach and onion on pizza. Yummmm.

I like it uncooked. We just chop it off, or if we have the baby spinach we put the whole leaves. Works great and my kids even eat it.

And I agree about the feta. Although we often use a combo of mozerella and feta.

Uncooked, but under the cheese. If you put it on top of the cheese, the leaves will burn. Under the cheese, the leaves will steam up and wilt nicely.

Add some black or Kalamata olives and cubed ham to the spinach and feta. Yum!

Thanks for all the advice, ladies (conflicting though some of it may be)!!!

I'll try it fresh this time, and if it's a disaster, I'll bad-rep every last one o' ya! ;)

Love it with feta cheese! I use mozzarella also and chopped fresh tomatoes if I have them.

LOL! I suggested spinach pizza to you, but I don't make it. I just order it. My family would freak out if I made it and expected them to eat it along with me.
