I am using Prentice-Hall Biology with the virtual lab that goes with it. I really don't like the virtual lab program. Can anyone recommend a Biology lab book or kit that will fulfill the high school requirement? I do plan on doing dissections and don't need help for that end but am looking for something fairly simple with mostly household materials. Thanks. Cathy

Have you looked at LabPaqs?

No, I've never heard of it. Have you used it before? Thanks. Cathy

I have a chemistry kit from them. It seems rigorous and complete. I haven't used it yet. They supply kits for distance learning courses but they sell to individuals too.

I think Experiences in Biology is good, from the Julichers.

I am interested in Experiences in Biology since labpaqs are out of my price range. Is there a way to know what materials are needed before purchasing the lab manual? I am curious what they suggest for cellular biology. Were the materials they want you to use very expensive? Thanks for any info. Cathy

If you go here:
http://www.hometrainingtools.com/kits-for-castle-heights-curriculum/c/50/

Then click on the program you're interested in.

After that, click on the little "kit order form" link and you can remove items you already have, etc. I think it's very generous of HTT to allow us to pick & choose individual items in these kits!
