As I look ahead to the future and ponder which direction to take our afterschooling, I find that a literature based approach would be a good fit for my dd's, especially my oldest dd who will be going on to 5th grade next year and who's school workload will increase substantially.
As a parent who's ultimate goal is to raise life time learners, I am intrigued by the prospect of providing quality literature to aid this endeavor. As our afterschooling evolves and I gain more and more experience and insight, I'm becoming more and more interested in creating and maintaining a home environment where learning is considered a source of excitement and wonder and self discovery. I will admit that I have not always seen it that way.
Have any of you Afterschoolers pondered the same??? If so, could you please share what steps you have taken in this direction.
All the best!
