Don't forget to celebrate everybody's favorite number today. (Get it, pi is 3.14 and today is 3/14)

Here (http://www.math.utk.edu/~ccollins/refs/piday.html) is a website where you can find some fun activities and stuff to celebrate.

I'd rather have pie for dessert! Hmm. What kind? Apple, strawberry, banana creme, chocolate-peanut butter. . .

Hey, thanks for pointing that out. I'm going to bake a cake for dessert and put the pi symbol on it, along with "Happy Pi Day", and see if any of my knuckleheads notices that it corresponds with today's date. No one gets a piece until they figure that out! :D

Thanks! I would have completely missed this, math "genius" that I am. :001_rolleyes: My boys will love it.

I'm thinking pizza for supper, with chocolate pie for dessert. How about salad with pie shaped lettuce?! Or not...that's a little too much work for me.

Thanks for the reminder! :)

We bookmarked the website a few weeks ago, but I'd forgotten all about it until I saw your message.

Happy Pi Day!

Buttermilk Pie:
1 1/2c. sugar (I use slightly less)
3 T. flour
1/8 t. salt
3 eggs, well beaten
2 T. melted butter
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 t. vanilla
1 unbaked pie shell
ground cinnamon

Combine sugar, flour, and salt.
Blend in eggs. Add butter, buttermilk, and vanilla.
Mix well. Pour into pie shell,
sprinkle with cinnamon. (today I sprinkled the cinnamon in the shape of
the greek letter pi)
Bake at 350 for 35 minutes or until set.
Tastes good warm and chilled.

Enjoy,
Wendy
