I've tried all kinds of pens and pencils, with grips and without, for my boys, both of whom have death-grip-wrap-around holds. Then Santa found them Stabilo 's move easy:

and they both love them! They are available for righties and lefties. Using them, they both automatically loosen up their grips and put their fingers in good places for a relaxed and flexible hold. I'm thinking of getting one for myself (secret death-grip writer).

I am completely addicted to pens. I will definitely be checking this out! Thanks Laura!

Where do you buy these? I couldn't find anything on the link and couldn't find any stores with them.

Thanks :)

This company in the UK ships to the US for a small fee. They have a US information section at the top of the page. They have both left-handed and right-handed versions on this page:

I am going to have to look for those for my boys. We are all pen freaks. Ds10 is another deathgrip writer although he has been loosening up. He pushes down too hard on the paper too.

Oh, I saw those at our hole-in-the-wall bookshop. Must check them out.
