View Full Version : Anybody reading "A New Earth?" It seems I am hearing this title everywhere.

I even heard Sean Hannity say he had read it. I know it is the Oprah book club suggestion so wondered what you think.

I have a couple of things to read right now, so I might until it is available at the library.

I heard Sean say that the other night too. The author is coming from a New Age perspective even though he uses Scripture. Oprah has been promoting several New Age series in the recent past. (The Secret, and the latest A Course in Miracles, Marianne Williamson). IMO, if you are looking for a book that is written from a Biblical worldview this would not be it. I am bringing this up as you have a cross as your avatar and mention in your signature that you are a preacher's wife so I hope I am not assuming too much to think you might be concerned with whether a book lines up with Scripture or not. Maybe you are not concerned with that. Just my opinionated two cents:001_rolleyes:.

As a basic rule for me, if Oprah liked it, I won't.

I had to pick it up at the library for my mil and was so embarrassed.

as he usually comes across very conservative. Usually Oprah's picks are not really for me.

:iagree:I'd have to agree with Soph the vet.
I wrote a whole post on this (new age, oprah, and the christian view of this particular book club series):
