Hi all,
Here is my dilemma. My dd just started 4th grade and is working a couple years ahead.
She is currently working on 6th grade PHSE and McDougal Littell World Geography and Cultures. We are finishing SOTW just to complete the whole cycle.
Next year we will start the history rotation again. I would like to wind up with using Spielvogel Western Civilization for 9th and 10th grade history so that she can take AP European history in 10th grade and AP American History in 11th grade.
So, I'm thinking of using a late middle school level text (or even a basic - but not honors - HS text) for history NEXT year (she'll be 5th but working at 7th grade level). She is a capable writer.
How rigorous is Notgrass? Is it honors and dont' think about it, or is it okay for a 7th grade student? I ask because I can buy it used locally.
What else might you recommend? I'd love to have the program built in with questions, essay assignments, etc, but be all in one program. I think TOG is out just because it requires too much organizing.
Also, I want it to be integrated with bible really well. I figure I have this 4-year cycle to really focus on that before the AP system makes that harder.
Any suggestions?
Lesley
