I have to register my son today at the local highschool and I can't remember if we need a homeschool code or not? Thanks!

I just registered my daughter today and all they needed was a check and her name. I believe you need the homeschool code on the day of the test.

The kids only need the homeschool code on the day of the psat test.

Make sure that your ds has the code on the day of the test and be sure that he knows that he is to use that code and no other, no matter what he is told by school officials!

The proctors are told at our local high school to double-check each test form to make sure that the correct code has been entered so that the school gets an accurate picture of the aggregate scores. The guidance counselor was afraid that his proctor would think he'd made a mistake and "correct" it for him.

Ds did mention it, and there was no problem. The proctor did ask if he'd gotten the code from an official source and if he was confident he'd memorized it correctly.

That advice was for test day. We did not need the hs code to sign up, but the guidance counselor did make sure that I knew not to use their code.

When my son showed up at the school (as the only homeschooler), he was reassured to find this written on the blackboard: name of school code - # and below it was written homeschool code - #. They came by and checked to make sure he had the homeschool code on his paper, too. We were impressed and pleased. He needed a picture id, but he has a passport so that was ok. -Nan
