I had my second PT appointment for sciatica and related pain yesterday. We did several exercises in the office that morning, and I was to do them a second time in the afternoon. I was feeling great when I left the office, but by about 3PM, I could barely stand the pain!

By bedtime I was nearly in tears. I do feel better this morning, but I wonder if I did something wrong. Was I supposed to ice my back after the exercises? Take an anti-inflammatory? What?

I am hesitant to do my exercises this morning. I have a busy afternoon ahead of me.

I'm not sure what exercises they gave you. I'm sorry about your pain though. I've had sciatic pain on occassion. ooooww! I would call the office and tell them what's happening. Maybe they can help?

My suggestion would be to call and ask. I tried calling my sister (who is a PT) but she was not at her desk and I know she is going out to the theater right after work today.
If you are in really bad pain, call right away! I would take Advil too. After manipulation, things can be inflamed. Sorry you are hurting.

Thank you both. I will give them a call. http://bestsmileys.com/talking/2.gif

(I don't hurt enough to skip the smilies! That's a good sign, right?)
