I have been looking at the web site and amazed! If I understand what I'm reading correctly, Verticy Learning is designed for LLD students but uses the Calvert School curriculum. Has anyone used this? It looks too good to be true -- a Classical curriculum for LD students?? Please, someone, tell me more!

I believe I posted our review of this (in this forum) when I first joined this forum. Let me see if I can find it and link to it (I will come back, I need to get the kids moving right now).

I can answer more questions if you have them. We have used it this year for grade 5 and I intend to use it again next year grade 6. I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a "true" classical curriculum as I have read in the WTM. For example, there is reliance on textbooks. There is no Latin. I would say the Logic is rather light to non-existent.

It has been a long time since my original post, and now I'm using part of the Verticy program! LOL
We have been using the Writing/Grammar portion only since January. We are taking things very slowly and it will probably be next spring before ds is done. He has learned how to write several different sorts of basic paragraphs, understands the concept of topic/supporting/concluding sentences. Before, it was a struggle to get a few words on the same idea! (Written down, at least. Ds has always been great at dictation.)
I'd give this part of the program an overall thumbs-up, even though it comes with quite a hefty price tag ($300 for the grammar/writing element stand-alone). We are not using the rest of the Calvert curriculum nor are we enrolled in the ATS service.

ha! I was feeling confused because I thought you were using the Verticy grammar/ composition component, Shari. However, I didn't check the date of the thread so now this all makes sense!
