Any tricks or helps out there? My dd is 12 yo, dyscalculia, and she had difficulty doing elapsed time when it involves minutes and hours. Showing her with a clock printed on the paper is not helping.

Any input appreciated.

You could try a linear representation of the clock face - horizontal like a number line, but delineated by minutes and hours. Creating a line that shows just a portion of the clock face, maybe several hours, might be enough to get the point across. It's easier to see and understand, and to physically count the elapsed time on a straight line. Once she's clear on that and you're able to use a real clock, you can explain how the number 12 is the boundary between AM and PM, and teach her to calculate the elapsed time between AM and PM by calculating each chunk of elapsed time separately, then adding them together.

HTH :)

My son didn't get it until I took the battery out of a clock and let him move the hands around.

Thanks. I'll try both ways. Something has to work!
