Rod and Staff Math

I was planning on using this next year for my dd(third grade next year).
We are currently using MCP and its okay but I wanted a more solid program. I was looking into Rod & Staff and I have the sample book but the sample pages don't show that the student pages have examples.... What I mean by this.. is there a "how to Do" type thing at the top of a new lesson showing how to complete the problems? or does it have to be worked out by the teacher separately? Does that make sense?

No, there's no lesson reading or example in the R&S math 3 student textbook. Lesson are set up that way starting in R&S Math 4.
