You can't see the next molar yet. She's not running a fever, so I don't think it's infected. She is putting something on it to numb it, but should I have her rinsing with an antiseptic wash? Warm salt water?

Thanks!

I don't know about the tooth (sorry for your daughter), but where did you get your avatar from?

Thanks!

When my dh and I had our wisdom teeth out (not at the same time!) we both used a warm salt water rinse. It certainly wouldn't hurt and might help some. I would also ask the doc/dentist if you could use some of that baby orajel to numb the area.

Thanks, Jean. That's exactly what I did. She rinsed with salt water earlier and I went and got some Peroxyl and we have her all numbed up with Orajel. I'll call the dentist in the a.m. I can't stand it when they hurt! :(

Sounds like dry socket...... I've never had it, but I was warned about it when I had my wisdom teeth out and others also. The dentist will help.

Yes, rinse with warm salty water as much as possible. We went to the dentist with something similar and this was what he prescribed. If it doesn't feel better in a couple of days see a dentist (or go straight away if you are worried.

I had dry socket when I had my wisdom teeth out many years ago and I wasn't warned about it. It was terrible!!! I still cringe just thinking the words.
