My Speech Therapist (and Lindamood coach) suggested that my DS8 try Captain's Log, specifically the SoundSmart program.
She is treating him for Expressive Language Disorder (which leads to his "learning disability of written expression") and weak reading skills. He also has mild ADHD.
He was adopted at 2 after a rough time in a poor orphanage in China. He does have some general learning delays, possibly due to that. We have already done Brainskills and she is coaching us through Visualizing and Verbalizing.
She feels the SoundSmart may help with his attention difficulties, plus foundational cognitive skills.
Anyone have any feedback? It costs a fortune, so I'm trying to get as much info as possible. Thanks!
