There are seems to be many books, TM, workbooks or whatever. How do I figure out what I need?

The main text is Lingua Latina: Pars I Familia Romana. I would also get Exercitia I (workbook) and Lingua Latina: A College Companion. The College Companion replaces three of the older booklets (Latine Disco, Grammatica Latina, Latin-English Vocabulary), so you don't need those.

Of the other available materials, I would recommend the CD-ROM or at least the audio CD. (You don't need both. If you get the CD-RM, the audio CD is redundant.) Hearing Prof. Oerberg read the book is a tremendous help. The other supplement I like is Colloquium Personarum, which contains additional stories and dialogs that correspond to each chapter of the main text. They are not required, but my students loves them and they are excellent for review.

HTH!

Thank you so much Drew, and it is good to "see" you. I hope you are doing well after the surgery.
