Has anyone used this for American History? I am looking for pros and cons. My soon to be 10th grade dd will be doing American History and I would like to keep everyone doing the same timeframe for history. We are finishing up MOH Vol. 1 and love it. My kids are 5th grade and 7th grade.
TIA

My 7th grader has really enjoyed AAH this year. He has learned many things about American History that we never even touched on when he was younger. The TM has wonderful suggestions for activity ideas, timeline dates, map work, books lists according to 3 age ranges & family activity ideas.
I also have two younger children that listen in and we have used the Homeschool in the Woods "Time Travelers" as a go along for them and it has worked beautifully!
The only con we have really found is that the chapters are laid out in a way that they tend to jump back and forth. So they first start with Atmosphere, then move to Event and wrap up with Impact. Since my son is dyslexic, this is somewhat hard to follow at times, but we have found ways to work with it and it hasn't been bothersome enough to change.

I am looking for American History Program as well. My sister-in-law had suggested Christian Cottage Home School Services

I don't know much about them, but I really like what I see. They have a four year history program. Vol 3 and Vol 4 are focussed on U.S. history. They have a great resource list that breaks books/resources (for readers or read alouds) down by general age levels. You buy the printed or CD version of the unit study, but you can access the resource list to see if their stuff would be a good fit for your family. You can also access samples of the unit studies themself.
It looks really good to me. Not sure yet if I will use it, but I am leaning towards using it with SOTW V 3.

That is what we are doing next yr as well. My 9th grader will be using A History of the American People (Paul Johnson) along with an old high school text from the 50s, plus 3 different TC series.
My 4th grader will following Sonlight (and watching the high school TC series) and reading a lot of Landmark's that we have.
