I have wanted one for a long time. It is the perfect solution for some of my particular homeschooling needs. Here is one I am loving from US Markerboard. (http://www.usmarkerboard.com/Buffalo-Book-Truck-Sloping-Shelf-Models/9561/#)
Do any of you have book trucks or carts? If so, where did you order or get them from? I'd like to find the best value that I can. I thought maybe I could check the local library, but since those things are pretty pricey and sturdy I thought they may not let those go.
Thanks.

This is exactly what I've been thinking! We have a schoolroom, but it is a sunroom and much too cold to use during the winter (Nov - Feb), so we bring school to the living and dining rooms during those months. I hate hauling Rubbermaid totes back and forth and not having everything in one place, so I decided I needed a rolling cart of some kind. A book truck would be exactly the thing! I'm hoping my husband can make me something similar from wood, but I'd be interested to see if there were other affordable options.
Here are some from Gaylord library supply - not any less expensive, but lots of different ones, including some with sloping shelves (a feature I like):

I'll keep looking!

When I read your subject line, I was thinking a delivery truck. Lol. I could use one of those to deliver all the library books that we order through ILL but get sent back because they will only hold them for 3 days, and we don't always make it into town within that period.

Heather.....yes, sloping shelves I think are a must. And I really prefer to have 3 shelves on either side for the most possible room. We school in several different places depending on what we're doing and I, too, am tired of hauling books. Plus I can just roll that book truck into our library closet when we're not using them.
Terri....I had a feeling someone would picture a delivery truck. I love books so much, I'd love to have a big ol' truck pull up and drop off tons of books!
Well, this will bump this a little, but maybe I"m out of luck for an inexpensive, solid book truck. Guess I'll have to save my dollars.

Thought I found a site with less expensive book trucks, but I was looking at the discount rather than the actual price. Sigh... Perhaps it's time to get off the computer.

Have you thought of checking with your local library system? Perhaps they have a useful one just sitting around in storage somewhere that could be yours for a plate of cookies (or a small fee). ;) :) A school district warehouse might have one to sell for cheap, too...

I think that would be so easy to make. You can even buy those heavy duty wheels at Home Depot. I've made desks and wall sized toy shelves with toy boxes at the bottom for my children-- the type that they have in the Pottery Barn Kids catalog. It's really easy to make and quite inexpensive. I would guess that you could make that book cart for around $50. My grandfather was a carpenter, so I somehow feel more brave in that department (even though he never taught me anything)!
