speaking of 50th birthdays and practical jokes

Just to combine a few topics. :hat:

My dh is going to be 50 next week. :party: He is such a joker, but me, not so much.

Anyway, mile marker birthdays tend to hit this usually upbeat guy hard, but I think it is funny. :smilielol5:

I gave him a surprise party on his 40th and he pouted, so I won't do that again. However, I am not above poking a little fun at him. I have purchased about a dozen different silly "over the hill" type cards at the dollar store. I will be handing them out to friends to sign and mail on a certain date. I am also asking relatives to send him cards, so that he will be deluged with tacky humor on the days surrounding his birthday. If nothing else, I will get some laughs out of this.:001_tongue:

Any other ideas?

My mom and her friends had a gravestone that would appear on anyone's lawn who had a 50th birthday. They'd sneak it over in the middle of the night. Later birthdays would earn you a flock of flamingos all over your lawn.

Perhaps a cane with a rear-view mirror and horn attached? We made one of these for a friend long before they started selling them in novelty stores......

I'd get him a Barbie and a Hot Wheels Ferrari, and accompany these with a note saying, "Warning: This is as close as you're going to get to a midlife crisis!".

When a pharmacy worker came in to work at the grocery store I work at, all the employees were dressed in black. There was a walker sitting in her parking spot. Of course there was a cake with black flowers, tombstone with "May your youth rest in peace" on it.

OH! I forgot! We also ordered a funeral wreath for our friend!!!!! One of those that stand up on the little wire feet with the RIP banner across it......
