My son just started as a Freshman at a very high rated High School (1800 students), about 10 minutes away drive.

He complains about not liking the teachers and the students (kids of very wealthy parents, girls with $1000 purses used to carry books, etc) and wants to move to an almost as high rated High School (2500 students) where he can walk to school for about 10-15 minutes.
Should I allow the transfer? :confused1:
What if this new place has teachers and students he will not like as well?
What would you do?

Thank you in anticipation of your reply!

I can't think of any reason why not to try. If he doesn't like it, he either thinks of another solution, or he puts up with it. Now if you've spent two grand on a uniform and textbooks, I think I'd tell him to stay put :)

If he is interested in joining a sports team, be aware that transfers from local schools may not be allowed to join sports teams for 365 days. This is happening to my ds, who has transfered to the "other" local high school b/c of his addiction issues.
