I'm placing an order with them tomorrow and just wanted to know if you had an suggestions for anything I just "SHOULD" have. :D

On my list right now is
Jataka Tales
Japan Twins
Dutch Twins
W. African Tales
Children's Plutarch
I'm interested in the history but I don't want anything dry and boring. We aren't starting ancients until the year after next (kids will be in 5th and 2nd grade).

Ooh, I can't wait to read Synge's Book of Discovery with my children when they are older! That isn't on your list but I haven't seen the ones you listed. We have a lot of Yesterday's Classics books and enjoy them, we're currently reading The Awakening of Europe.

Jessica, does your DD enjoy, The Awakening of Europe? My children will be in 5th (DD) and 2nd (DS) by the time I begin Ancients. Do you think, On the Shores of the Great Sea would still be appropriate by that point?

I explain anything that I think dd7 needs, but she also knows to ask if she doesn't understand something. We sit beside our world wall map so I can point to where we're talking about as we read.
I just read a few first pages of various chapters of On the Shores of the Great Sea from Mainlesson.com and the only concern I have is that the book ends with the birth of Christ, which if you're following the WTM history cycles, you'll need another book to finish with the Fall of Rome. So you'll need to also have The Discovery of New Worlds to finish out the 5000 B.C. -400 A.D. time period.
Another factor is that the Synge books only cover certain areas of the world, so that would be a personal decision about whether you'd cover Ancient times of other civilizations that aren't covered in the book.
I think these are engaging books and we're enjoying The Awakening of Europe so far. :)

Thanks! We aren't trying to stick with a WTM timeline and we love filling in with tons of living books. I think I'll pick them up. My kids are history-addicts.
