Our internet company just became Comcast providers. We got a "sample" bill and said they would be billing us normal, but then bill us again on the date that we would always be billed (which I have a feeling won't be a month later) Today we got a rate chart and the difference, which is going to be more, but it didn't have the internet prices on there. Anyway, if you have Comcast, can you tell me what you pay and what that's for? Right now we have HD cable and a DVR and internet. If you have had a company switch to Comcast, did you stay with them, or did you find something else? If you've switched or use something else, what do you use and about what do you pay?

Did you have Insight? Ours just switched from Insight to Comcast and the cable rates went up. We use verizon DSL for internet.

We have Comcast for everything - high speed internet, phone (includes LD, call waiting, call ID, etc), and tv (not the small package - we need a big one for sports!). We pay a total of $125 or so a month.

This site has information about how Comcast is part of a larger body of telecom communications companies (Qwest, AT&T, etc.) that are trying to tier Internet usage. If they succeed, their Internet users will need to choose an Internet plan. Each plan, or level of usage will be determined by Comcast (or other telecom companies). Your access to the Internet will be determined by the plan you choose - some plans will load pages slower, some will block pages, and the highest priced plan will allow almost total access to all web pages. Some plans will allow you to use Google and Amazon, others won't. It's bad news for small business because larger companies (Wal-mart) can pay "fees" to Comcast to load their pages first and fast. It's something we all need to watch. Google is fighting this proposal.

You can still choose to go with Comcast, but you might want to become familiar with, and monitor their ulterior motives.

Our Insight just switched to Comcast. We have no other options for cable internet. I have internet, tv (basic plus--no box) and phone. My bill was for $107.

Yes, we had Insight previously. I hate to see what the total is. We were paying about $104, for HD cable, DVR box & internet.
