He and his brother are pretending to be hunters. When I asked him what he was hunting he said, "the Snow Shoe Hare".

We read about this hare in the Burgess Animal Book for Kids a couple weeks ago so I thought I would "quiz" him on how much he remembered.

I asked him, "How do you know what to look for?"

He answered, "Well, it has a white coat, big feet for staying above the snow and long white ears, save the tips which are black."

What?!? "Save the tips which are black?"
Now if that isn't a specific choice of a word, I don't know what is?
He cracks me up! He says stuff like that all the time! Oh, I forgot to mention that he said it with an "Englishman's accent". He was sure to point that out to me as well!

How funny, it's so neat to see them growing up!

I LOVE it when little kids use grown up words and phrases.

I took ds8 to the Symphony Saturday night and it ended with a mini ballet presentation of Firebird Suite. After it was over ds looks at me and says, 'Well! That was quite the experience!' :)

Yesterday, I asked ds 3 what animal gives us milk, and dd6 piped up, "Bovine!" LOL - They are too much, aren't they?

Umm...,maybe reading good quality writing like Burgess might have something to do with his choice of language?

Very nice. Thumbs up.
