I have gone to the thomson.edu site and found lots of additional resources - has anyone used any of the primary source readers, map excercises or online supports for teacher and student? Please share all of your experiences. I am looking for something interesting and challenging. Was it easy to tie in literature and art studies?

I tried to look at the website you mentioned and got an error link. Are you using Duiker/Spielvogel World History To 1500 and Since 1500? It is what we are using. We are using the student/instructor support web site at http://www.wadsworth.com/cgi-wadsworth/course_products_wp.pl?fid=M20b&product_isbn_issn=9780495050605&discipline_number=21&token= for the tutorial quizzes. The resource part requires us to purchase access. I figure we will use the public and local college libraries for any resources we need.

For literature component the twins are to do for each unit (Total of 5 units between the two text volumes):
-read three books... one biography/autobiography, one fiction, and one non-fiction.
-do one research project that includes a 5-7 page written report.

I feel it is easy to tie in literature and art studies. My twins are choosing the books they are to read as long as the books fit in the history unit time line. For Ds he plans to study about science and technology in the various time frames, he may also decide to read about the various scientists. For Dd she wants to learn more about the music in history (she is also studying music appreciation/history as an elective) and musicians.

I hope this anwers your question at least a little.
