It seems like the "crud" is everywhere. I just know how baaaad we felt when it went through this house, so I'm sending out healing wishes to all of you who are struggling with trying to be Moms while also being sick. Bleh!!! And, I figure like cures like (at least that's what the homeopaths say), so maybe a little de-crudding in your lives will send some sort of de-crudding to mine (though mine is not the viral/bacterial crud and more the psychological kind -- anybody got a virtual spa?).

Mamagistra, Mom2legomaniacs, Aubrey, Jean in Newcastle....who else needs a virtual hot toddy and/or chicken soup?

Thanks so much. Believe me, I appreciate this a great deal.

My dh is away until later tonight. My 6 yr ds said he hoped I wouldn't get this ever again. It is just too hard to take care of himself! LOL! I asked if he appreciated how hard my job was sometimes. He said, YES!

My whole family? Along with prayers that I won't get it?

Mini whine... since you asked. ;)

We've been sick for *weeks* with no repreive. It's one thing after another. We had 2 ER visits last week, (one due to severe asthma along with a nasty cold we had, and the other due to numbness in my son's legs after having a fever and diarrhea for 3 days) I'm sure that's where we picked up this newest lovely bug running through the house. DH is away on training and my DD who turned 3 yesterday hasn't been able to keep anything down and has had diarrhea for the last 3 days. DS (age 5) has has been vomiting with a fever for 2 days now, and DS (age 8) started throwing up, diarrhea and fever today. DS8 also had an eardrum rupture last Thursday. (they do that... he doesn't know he has an infection until they burst. :( ) I can't get in to see my Dr. because they're "too busy" so if my tiny DD gets much worse I'll have to take all 4 kids with me to the ER and sit for hours with 3 of them vomiting/diarrhea/fever until we can see a Dr.

I don't know anyone here yet. If I had a terrible emergency I'd call my neighbor, who is an older retired gentleman whose wife passed away 2 weeks ago, but I am not calling unless it's a *dire* emergency.

I've got a constant stream of towels/sheets/blankets/sleepers running through the washing machine and I'm mopping like crazy, thankful we don't currently have carpet since DD doesn't know when she's going to urp.

I'm praying that DD10 and I can somehow manage to avoid this. So far so good, and I am still in good spirits. I have been distracting myself by posting here since everyone else is tucked into their sick beds (couch/chairs) and DD10 is willingly cloistered in her bedroom with good books and plenty of craft ideas.

Yes, hugs and prayers would be *very* appreciated. I know I'm not the only one going through this this winter, so I'm trying not to complain too much.

Aw...right back at ya, (((Doran))). :) I'm feeling much better today, although my head is still pretty cottony and I sound more like a toad than a mama. ;) I am so glad that our crud seems to have been short-lived.

::Takes soup and toddy, nods appreciatively:: :D

Didn't you just move to Tx? It's a big state, but...if you don't mind, where are you? I've got family here & there, & at the very least, they might know a dr who could actually SEE your dc!

I'm so sorry. This sounds just AWFUL!!

And thanks, Doran!:D You're sweet!! Dh just came home from work so tired from the time change that I told him to go to bed while I put the dc down. He must be tired to accept, since that means he's forgetting that I'm sick. (insert big pout):p

And the dc are just. awful. I mean, they know how to be adorable (the baby) & deep (ds) & cuddly (dd4) right. at. bedtime. In fact, ds & dd4 PURPOSEFULLY ask me questions to distract me from bedtime. I've caught myself explaining poverty in Africa, politics in Russia, and....I don't know what else. At bedtime.

Dh MUST put the dc to bed, lol.

I do believe you get the award! Poor thing -- that sounds perfectly awful. You get toddies, soup, and a nanny who is immune to illness, that's what you get! Seriously, TX is a big place, but there are lots of WTMers there. Maybe just maybe someone is nearby, or could lend some networking support for you. Aubrey has a good idea there.

Sending you the whole kielbasa of getting well wishes! :(

Where's Anna when I need her. I think my wand is broken.

Ah, well. Sympathies and hugs all around.

Oh THANK YOU!! I feel so much better now!

My daughter and I are both sick. Funny thing is dd is never sick. The rest of the family could be bedridden and she would be just fine. Needless to say she is hurting. I also have two whiny, cranky, clingy boys - a toddler and a preschooler - who aren't feeling well. Fun is.

Thank you! Especially for the Nanny! Or better yet, I'll do that job and she can do the cleaning and the cooking, the grocery runs and the cleanup of ickies. ;)

Aubrey, I'm in the Ft. Hood area. If you DO know a Dr. who is actually available to see patients, I'd MUCH appreciate a PM with a recommendation. I'm about at my wits' end, frustrated that I can't get to a Dr. when my kids are sick.

Thankfully, I've been in pretty good spirits despite all of this. If you can't cry, laugh, right? ;)

PM sent. The 1st person I mentioned, though? Wrong town. It was Belton, not Temple. Slightly closer. Big personality. Knows people literally EVERYWHERE.

We're all sick with stuffy head colds, but thankfully, that is all. Hope everyone else feels better soon!

Me! I could use some hugs and get well wishes too. I'm not terribly sick but I've been tired and achy the last couple of days. I had to miss church yesterday but was able to do some school work today.

Hope everyone feels better soon! And thanks, Doran!

Hugs and prayers and good thoughts for all of you. If it helps we're into week three and I'm finally human again. I doesn't last forever.
