I have been looking at Lightning Lit 7 to use with my ds 9. I know that the books are fine for him to read, he has read 2 of them already.
Did you add anything to it, take anything out?

I used bits and pieces of LL 7 & 8 with my 5th grader last year and it was fine. I believe we did both poetry units in 7, Alice, The Hobbit and one short story, I think, Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Both of my dc enjoy LL. The poetry lesson on Edgar Allen Poe with "The Bells" did get a bit long, so we cut the number of worksheets. The nonce words exercise with Alice was a major hit with Swimmer Dude.
It's your call.:D Don't you love it?

Thanks for that
I was thinking that I was crazy for thinking about it.
Alice is one of ds favorite books.

We started it in sixth grade but are doing it over two years alongside So You Really Want to Learn English. We didn't change anything, just took it slower.

Yes, we used LL7 before 7th grade and will do the same with other LL offerings. For DD in 7th grade I like the lite literature approach for this age.

My 6th and 7th graders are using LL7; we'll probably use it for Dot a year or two earlier than that.
