I'm sick. I've been miserable all weekend, but I got to the dr & got med this AM.

I'm pg. I'm sure that's relevant somehow.

My kitchen is a huge mess. (See above, lol.) The trash hasn't been taken out. (Hmm...that one's not me.) It stinks in here.

Ds has been extremely uncooperative & whiny lately.

I laid dd10mos down for a nap this afternoon & told the dc they could read quietly while I napped. I told them that if they got too loud, I would get up, & they would have to take a nap, too. I told them that I would not be upset, but this would be their consequence.

I laid down. About an hour later, they were too loud. I really wasn't upset. I got up & told them that they did a really good job for a long time, but now it was nap time. Dd4 cheerfully used the bathroom & got ready for bed. Ds7 made a face & kind-of plopped his body defiantly. I called him over to me. Dd was the one who had been loud. I rarely make him take naps any more. I told him that I would have let him continue to read quietly but because of his attitude, he would be taking a nap, too.

He continued to mildly stomp around, & when I went to their room, he was sitting in his bed, fully dressed. (He has to take his jeans off or he won't sleep.) I told him to take his pants off, & he said, "Why!" No, I said. Not "why," "yes, ma'am." I helped him take his pants off and covered him up.

I laid back down. About 1/2 an hr later, dd10mos woke up. I got up to fix her a bottle & saw that the kids' bedroom door was open. I peeked in & found ds sitting in bed reading. I very calmly brought him out of his room & told him he'd be doing copywork/chores the rest of the day. I told him that he *would* have had the rest of the day to play when he woke up from his nap, but he chose to disobey.

He copied passages from Proverbs for a while. Then I found a pile of jelly he'd dropped all over the floor/dd's high chair tray & not cleaned up. A BUNCH. I told him he'd be cleaning something up for me because I was going to clean this up for him. We talked about the responsibility of cleaning up after yourself. I stayed calm!

Now he's unloading the dw & about to reload. I've been concerned that on top of not feeling well, I was going to have to *ahem* excavate the kitchen before cooking tonight. A security guard friend just knocked on the door, 4 trays of spaghetti dinner in hand. (Sometimes the school has leftover food, & if the sec guards have time, they deliver it to families on campus.):D

That is all. My house is a mess & I'm sick & I'm really, really happy. My kids are kind of a mess today, & I've been nice to them.:D

I would be excited if someone brought over dinner, even if I'm not sick. My house is kinda a wreck, even though we cleaned up good Saturday. How does this happen so quickly?

Take care of yourself!!
