HELP! I am using Apologia Physical Science with my 9th grader this year, and my experiment kit from Home Science Tools has not yet arrived. I can put off the first experiment until next week, but if I could find a YouTube video of it or something to hold us over, that would be great! Does this exist anywhere?

I'm only missing copper wire... I could run to Lowe's, but that is a "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" sort of thing, since it's 20 minutes away, and then we need to look at ceiling fans, and then I should just run 10 more minutes down the road to pick up milk and bread, and then some of the kids need new shoes... ;)

Thanks!

Shelly

Can you just wait for the kit to arrive, move on with the curriculum otherwise, and then do the experiment?

Fwiw, my now senior ds just now did the 9th gd. Apologia PS experiments.

He had originally done the Apologia PS over the summer after 9th gd., though mostly to prepare for taking Biology through Biola's STAR program. I didn't have him do the experiments, and very conservatively awarded him only 1/2 the credits for Science. I had intended for him to take Chemistry later as a junior or senior, and have that count as his second 'lab' science required here both by our PSP as well as the universities he was considering.

However - he has decided to only apply to Biola University, which accept Phys. Sc. w/lab as one of the two required high school sciences. I only required him to choose 12 labs to complete on his own, with write-ups to be turned in to myself. Our PSP leader and records keeper were perfectly fine with that. And ds was very happy not to take chemistry, since that's not in the area of what he'll be persuing.
