I purchased a used government text from Amazon. When i received it, I realized that it is an instructor's examination copy (which isn't supposed to be sold). I'm trying to determine if it is the entire text. According to the text website, there are 686 pages. My text has 586, but it also has appendixes, a glossary, and an index which might make a total of 686.:001_huh:
Are they the same?

They are sold all the time! I get inundated with these texts each year and have to get rid of them (or move to a new office with a lot more shelves!).
Usually, though, the page numbers would be the same. I have never, ever seen an examination text for chemistry that is different from the actual text. Is this a 1st edition? If so, I have seen partial samples that publishers put out when the full text won't be printed until the summer and they want to make sales early. In those cases, the full table of contents is shown, but you will find that chapter are missing. HTH!
