World Lit or Shakespeare

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if there is any difference or benefit to have one first over the other.

My dd did Eng I in 8th grade. For HS she had done Eng II and III. For grade 11th and 12th I thought on World Lit and Shakespeare, the question now is....Which one first? Does it matter?

How would you choose?

Well, Shakespeare IS pretty wonderful, no doubt about it. But it's usually only offered for a semester in High School, and it IS just one man's work at one time and from one culture in one genre, so I would say do your studies in chronological order, folding in 3-4 Shakespearan works as you go.
Or not.
