I'm late getting supplies for this year...What exactly do I NEED for Foerster's Alg II/Trig? I was a math major, so don't feel like I need too much hand-holding, but it is always nice to use someone else's work in putting together a schedule rather than having to do it myself--but the TM is SO expensive!! And do I need the separate (also expensive) test book that VP sells? Are there tests in the student text? Can I get buy with just the student text and solutions manual?
Keep in mind that I haven't actually used these materials yet.
I particularly like the TM because it doesn't just give answers to the questions but it also has estimated times for completion of each section (not always one day), suggested examples that are not in the text, suggested assignments (usually not all of the problems), and notes about the problems.
There are tests in the student text, but no cumulative tests (like midterm and final).
That said, I'm sure you could do just fine with a student text and solutions manual, but the TM does offer some good information (albeit expensive!) and the test book does have cumulative tests and a final exam.
