Ds is taking US history here at home. I have weekly objective tests that I may add 2 essay questions to. Anyway, is this enough (with comprehensive midterms and final) or have you assigned other things with this. With his other classes I am wondering if a 5 paragraph essay each week is too much (along with physics, spanish, english/lit, saxon adv math,a high school religion text)? Also wondering if I should require him to outline the chapters? Its hard being Mom, and teacher of all his classes! Sometimes I feel I assign too much and sometime think it isn't enough!

Thanks for sharing what you have your DC in high school do for American History!

Sorry for the long question, so I'll simplifiy: If you use a text book for history what assignments/requirments do you give/have (tests, essays, . . .)?

Thanks

For BJUP, we don't do the activity book because there is a lot of repetition between that and the section review questions and chapter review questions. For geography we did buy a map pack. I have them read the chapter, do section reviews, chapter reviews, and the tests that come with it. If there are essay questions on the test, I look at them and determine if I want them to do it. I prep for the test by looking at the chapter objectives in the teacher's edition and discussing them with them. That's it.
