Clonlara? Need opinions

My daughter was in public school (1-6) and then private school for 7th. She did really poorly in 7th grade (for many reasons). So we are going to be repeating/doing differently parts of 7th grade.

My dilemma is that this is going to be her first year of homeschooling. She should be in 8th grade. But personally I do not think she is ready academically/maturity wise.

If I held her back a year it would not be an issue as she is the youngest by a year in her grade (we moved from another state with a different deadline to start kindergarten).

The problem-

I am hoping and praying she likes homeschooling and does not go to the public high school or another private school.

I want to use Clonlara for a transcript (if needed) but I really am not sure I want to put her down for 8th grade (because I want her to repeat 7th basically). But if I put 7th on the transcript then I couldn't use it if she went back to public school. And if I put 8th grade then next year I am going to have to put 8th grade again.

Any thoughts?

The folks at Clonlara will help you sort this out. They don't hold kids to rigid grade levels. I bet dollars to donuts they'll tell you that your daughter can work on seventh grade skills as an eighth grader with no consequences for her permanent record because all schools are different and a skill that is seventh grade level in one school or homeschool is eighth in another.
