We use espindle and love it. My youngest dd really struggled with spelling. We tried Avko and many other programs, but what really turned it around for us was espindle. It corrects any mistakes right away, is not me correcting her mistakes and is easy and quick to do daily. DD went from a few years below grade level to her level or above. We did start her at a lower grade level and we added quite a few of our own words at first. I would go in and make sure that some words repeated with greater frequency.

Adding: We use verbocity.com for vocabulary. While espindle does give the definitions, it is not our focus when we use it. My daughter is challenged to create creative sentences and to use her new vocabulary with verbocity. She currently has a sentence selected for their contest using the word "whim" and she is in first place and super excited!

We also use a word roots book once a week.
