Question about writing assignments with Notgrass History

I am looking into Notrgrass Word History next year. From the online samples it looks like there is a writing assignment with each unit and that each unit lasts around 1 one. Did you do all/most of the writing assignments? What was your opinion of them? Any other information about the program and how you implemented it is appreciated.

My 9th grader is taking Notgrass World History this year, and simultaneously a heavy load in English, so we have done only a few of the writing assignments. Though I like everything else about Notgrass, I've not been crazy about many of the writing assignments. (Confession - I'm awfully picky about such things.)
