Need help starting a blog please

I have admired all of your blogs and would like to take the plunge and start my own. I have registered at Homeschoolblogger, picked a background and written my first entry. So, how do you do all of the neat stuff (sidebar labeling, slideshows, etc.)? I am willing to learn anything:), but I have lots to learn! :o

A friend of mine was supposed to show me all of the ins and outs of e-blogger. Then she hit a horrible marital crisis, so our time to get together and do silly, light, social things went out of the window.

So I sat down and tried this, tried that, maneuvered this over here, figured out how to nab a picture from google there. It took HOURS one evening after the kids were in bed and the DH was busy with his own stuff. But it was kind of fun to figure it all out.

I still have questions myself, I have to admit. I consider it a process, an organic project that will grow over time.

Have fun!! There are lots of very helpful folks here, of course. My guess is that you'll be off and running in no time.
