How long is 250 words? One page?

DS thought he had a nifty college essay and Word says it is over 700 words! Argh! Are 250 words only one scant page, double spaced? DS wrote only 2.5 pages, double spaced and got over 700 word count! Can't say much in 250 words!

Ds had to write up a movie idea in 250 words for his cinema program ap. We distilled and distilled! Edit it for him--take out unnecessary words, help him be more succinct--You will be amazed how much you can cut.
