Which guides have you used?
What is a typical lesson like?
What is contained within?
I am primarily looking for literary analysis, for I have grammar, writing, and vocabulary already covered.
Are there any hands-on-types of activities suggested within the guides?
Thanks!

We're currently doing Carry On, Mr. Bowditch.

It's broken down by chapters with a section focusing on content vocab, comp. questions and further discussion questions. Some literary elements are discussed, but not indepth. Additional activites that include some geography and research are also included, not really any hands on stuff. At the beginning there is some background information, and a summary section at the end. There's also information about the author, illustrator and an answer key in the back.

I think the comprehension and discussion questions are excellent, the vocab is fine. There are some questions that relate to a biblical perspective called Digging Deeper. You use these are skip them as we do.

All in all, I think as far as book study guides go, they're excellent.
