I saw someone here the other day worried that others can see who is on and what they are doing by clicking on "currently active users" at the bottom of the main page.
If you do not want anybody but mods and admin to be able to "see" you, you can make yourself invisible. Go into the User Control Panel - click on "edit options," - check the box by "use invisible mode" at the top - scroll down and click "save changes." Any administrators and others to whom they give the ability will still be able to see you, but no one else will. You will still see your name with an * beside it. :)
