This is for painted walls, not wallpaper. Any ideas?

I use the magic eraser, lightly, and then paint a bit over if I notice anything.

Dump the baking soda. I just use vinegar and water for most things, or a weak solution of my Seventh Generation dish detergent and warm water.

The one tip given to me was to make certain you dry as you go. This has prevented further streaking. I also use vinegar and water, very diluted.

I have a friend who use to work for a cleaning company called Merry Maids. She came and cleaned my painted walls with Bon Ami. It left no streaks nothing. It did not even take off the paint. I had handprints, pencil marks, and crayons. It took it off without stripping any of the paint.
I wish I had seen this sooner. I see that you used just the vinegar. Baking Soda and vinegar is good for a volcano experiment.
