I have been trying to figure out just what I want to use for phonics for my lo. I will most likely be using HOD. I am already using Little Hands lightly and will add Language Lessons for Little Ones by Queen book 1 for the letter recognition and sounds as soon as it arrives.

When moving up to Beyond Little Hearts by HOD in a year or two I am pretty much undecided about what to do for Phonics. I don't like most of what I see, and I don't care for HOD phonics suggestions. I do like what I hear is in the guides though, but I need to add phonics.

Will ETC books along with LLFLO 2 and 3 be a full phonics program or will something be missing?

ETC is a full phonics program by itself and you can certainly use it along with Language Lessons for Little Ones. :) Your child will have plenty of phonics using both ETC and Queens english.

HTH!

Hi Susie! I use HOD curriculums, and I think you are making a great choice to use them as well! I just wanted to mention that HOD does not contain ANY phonics instruction, which I have actually loved because I can use whatever phonics programs I like. We used Hooked on Phonics (the newer version), and we've really enjoyed that. I just wanted to assure you that whatever phonics you choose, HOD works great!

When you get to HOD's "Beyond...", that guide does include an emerging reader set that uses real books scheduled for you in the Appendix to use once you are done with phonics. We're getting set to do the Emerging Reader's set a second time through now, and we're very excited to begin - it's just a treasure chest of books with great little discussion questions and activities in the HOD's guide. So, whatever you choose for phonics, it will work with HOD.

HTH

Thanks mama!
I am glad to know that any phonics will work with HOD! I am really excited about it! Right now we are slowly doing LHTH, soon LLFLO book one, and today I got in Activities in Bag books so that I can make some fun educational activities to go along with everything else. I always think that maybe I am overdoing it but dd has no one her age (all my other kiddos are adults ) and she gets board. We watch videos way to much. So the more activites the better! :D Anyway, I look forward to advancing in HOD in a year or two. Dd loves book and activities, and I know she will love HOD beyond LHTH too!

Oh wonderful!! :D
Most phonics pograms just don't suit me and my picky self or cost way too much. These look like something me and mine would love! :D
Thanks for the replys!
