especiall for High School??

We have used:
TT1 and 1/2 of TT2 (called it Alg.1)
Jacobs Geometry

Planning on using Larson's Elementary & Intermiediate Combined for Alg. 2

Then what??

Do we go into College Algebra?? Pre-Calculus?? Where does Trigonometry fit in??

Seeing my sequence...how do I finish up?? Saxon was easy...just do the next book...but my kids hated it and did not so well on their SAT Math...

So....please help me plan for 11th and 12th grade....

Thanks,
Faithe

Next after Alg 2 would be Precalculus, which includes (or should include) trigonometry. Then after that would be Calculus.

College Algebra (which I took eons ago--LOL!) I think covers from Alg 1 up through Precalculus, but at a faster pace. Maybe someone with more recent experience can confirm or correct me. Unless you have a reason to go this route (such as dc feels like he really didn't "get" Alg the first time, and/or you need to cover that whole span of material quickly) I'd go with a Precalculus course next.

I'll tell you what path my recent graduate took:

8th: Algebra I (Lial's)
9th: Geometry (Jacobs')
10th: Algebra II (Lial's)
11th: College Algebra and Trigonometry at the local community college (used Sullivan's Precalculus book for both classes)
12th: AP Statistics through PA Homeschoolers

So Precalculus is the combination, typically, of College Algebra (Algebra III) plus Trigonometry.

Also, one can take Statistics after Algebra II (Precalculus is not a prerequisite).

Kareni

I was told that Precalculus is College Algebra and Trigonometry.

We are doing Larson's Algebra 2 (twins took Alg 1 in 8th grade public school), Larson's geometry, then probably Larson's precalculus. Trigonometry will be part of the precalculus course.
