I am looking for a high school level American history textbook. I will be using this with my 7th/8th grader so it really does need to be high school level and not college level but used for high school.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

And you don't want to use Hakim's History of US?

My Mom picked up a hs level text for me and I asked about it here right after I got it. I got several positive responses about it. My older son returned to regular school this year, so never used it, but I'm holding on to it in case I need it in future. It's called The American People: Creating a Nation and a Society, Nash, Jeffrey, et al. I like the look of it (for a text, LOL - I'm not much on texts).....

The American Republic from BJU Press is an 8th grade textbook (not secular). I ordered the home study kit from Rainbow Resource, but maybe there are samples at www.bjupress.com. They also have an 11th grade US History text, but I haven't used it yet.
