I'd like to start Spanish with my 4 dc, but I'd like to do it all together so I won't have to teach it so many times. Any suggestions for this would be great! I will have a 7th, 4th, 3rd, and 1st grader. I'm concerned if the 1st grader will be able to keep up if writing will be required. Also, are there any suggestions for a great spanish curriculum? Thanks so much!

do the best of them all, because they are in that phase of language acquistion, where words are learned easier. I wish I had a good suggestion, but my dh (who has learned Spanish himself) has taught our kids without a curriculum. I always tell him that I wish I could package and sell him because he does such a good job!:D

They are closer in age and it is not a curriculum just a way I have approached Spanish.

We have Spanish Christian CDs. We have the English version also, but we use the Spanish only since they know the English. I teach them one song a month. They have the words written in the sleeve of the CD. So, I type up the words. I have the children copy the words every day, but not all at once. Just one line at a time. We sing the song over and over everyday like Latin chants in the morning and Spanish songs. By the end of the month, they know how to sing a song in Spanish. They now know two songs pretty well. They have also copied the entire song by the end of the month also. It is a simple non-threatening way to learn Spanish. Now, my boys are in second and fourth grade. They are a lot younger than your children. So, you may want to beef up the amount of songs. There a reason why I use songs.

I hope that sort of helps.

Karen
