What is the difference between (Jann in Tx)

Lial beginning algebra and intermediate algebra which would you use for
algebra I.
I checked amazon and found the book, but cannot find solutions manual to books. any ideas.

Lial's Beginning Algebra is Algebra 1. There are answers to the odd problems in the back, at least in the edition we have.

Yes, Beginning Algebra is Algebra I. Intermediate Algebra is Algebra II.

Answers to the odd exercise problems are in the back of the book. Also included are all the answers to the reviews and tests.

Margaret Lial has 2 different Algebra series by the same publisher.

I prefer the paperback one that uses a text called INTRODUCTORY Algebra for Algebra 1 It is also refered to as her 'Developmental Math series'. Look for 7th or 8th edions (8th if you want video support).

The 2 series are similar--I just like the layout and the practice problems in the margin of the paperback series. I'm currently tutoring a student using Beginning Algebra 9e and my Introductory Algebra 7e has matched up very well--except I have more examples and practice problems within the lesson.

My preference:
Basic College Math = Pre-Algebra
Introductory Algebra = Algebra 1
Intermediate Algebra = Algebra 2 (again use paperback series)
Geometry (usually between the Algebras from a different source)
Pre-Calc (or College Algebra depending on student's college plans).
