Question about algebra I

We have saxon teacher with book and dvd's. I am not impressed.
DD did the test and I checked the dvd test part and they worked it out but did not give the answer to it. That does not make sense,. how are you to grade it. I know that it has the answers in the answer key book, but it should show the answer on the DVD.

ANyone doing abeka algebra I without any DvD"s. How is it going?

I'm doing it without the DVD's. I think it's going fine, except that I have to do the lesson *with* ds. I'd much rather hand that over to a DVD! :)

I only have an Answer Key, so it just has the answers to each problem, not how they solved it. That has been tough at times. I think this year we'll invest in the Solutions Manual, and that will help us when we get stuck.

they have the problems worked, but sometimes leave out some of the simpler steps, assuming student understands that part, I guess.

I get my Saxon solutions manuals from Rainbow Resource. They don't come with the homeschool kit package; you have to purchase them separately. We've never used the DVDs, so I can't comment on those.

Are you using the DIVE cd's or Saxon Teacher?
